The Hike

This hike starts at a small parking area just outside of the Sisters City Limits. There is a signed trail map at the start of the hike. This hike has many signed intersections that are easy to navigate. The hike starts by winding through a ponderosa and lodgepole pine forest. Be on the lookout for mountain bikers who you will also share the trail with. After 2.3 miles you’ll turned onto the Eagle Rock Pass Trail and start ascending a striking, basalt outcropping. As you climb, the trail winds through manzanita and rabbitbrush with Indian paintbrush and lupine adding splashes of color to the trail. After 2.7 miles the trail reaches a nice viewpoint of the Three Sisters and other Central Cascade peaks. To see an even more spectacular view you have the option to hike on a spur trail to another great viewpoint, which serves as a great lunch spot. After enjoying the views, the trail descends the other side of this rocky outcropping as you complete a loop back to your starting point.
