Angels Are Real

I lived in a very small town in Missouri. I walked nearly everyplace I went because I didn’t have a car. One afternoon I visited a friend. I stayed much later than I should have, and it got dark outside. I asked my friend to take me home, but she couldn’t or wouldn’t.

As a result, I had to walk down a two-lane highway at night. On the right side of this road was a one-foot walkway, and then about a three-foot drop-off into the grass. On the left was the same thing. In order to be seen by drivers, I thought it would be safest to walk down the road toward the middle. I saw headlights, and I moved to the one-foot side of the road.

Just then, I felt a large thump on my back, and a truck with wide side mirrors went past me. As I picked myself back up, I realized that I had been struck in the middle of my back by the truck. The truck was going at least 30 miles an hour when it hit me.

I know that an angel came between me and that truck. Otherwise, how can anyone account for the fact that I never even bruised and was not hurt in any way? Angels are real; they watch over us all the time.
