Strawberry Sauce

TRY THIS QUICK AND EASY RECIPE FOR A FRESH STRAWBERRY SAUCE.

1 pint strawberries, hulled and halved
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1. Put the strawberries, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract into a heavy-bottomed saucepan and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes until the berries are soft and the juice is slightly syrupy. Taste the sauce and add more sugar if it is not sweet enough for you.
2. Let the sauce cool, then transfer it to a blender. Pulse until all the large pieces of strawberry have been pureed. You can pass the sauce through a fine-mesh strainer to remove the seeds, if you wish.
3. Let the sauce cool and store it in a container with a tight-fitting lid in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
