‘What’s this?’ said Amelia. Tucked away under all the photos was a small leather book. She picked it up and examined it. ‘It must be very old, the edges are all worn and tattered.’ Amelia flicked it open and saw curly handwriting on lined paper.

Percy twitched his nose and sniffed the yellowed pages with interest.

‘It’s a diary, P!’ exclaimed Amelia. ‘Let’s take it upstairs for a closer look.’

Making sure they were as quiet as mice, Amelia and Percy crept back upstairs. When they were snuggled up on the beanbag, Amelia opened the mysterious diary and saw a very familiar name.

The Diary of Ophelia, age 8.

Ophelia? I know that name … That was Grandma Chamelia’s name!
