“I can’t believe you made me leave my car there. We wouldn’t have been apart for long. It’s a two-minute drive.” I laughed as we pulled into my driveway. Niko had insisted I ride with him. Now that he’d come to his damn senses, he didn’t want to spend a minute apart unless we had to. He’d stayed by my side throughout dinner, and even when I’d left to help with the dishes, I’d found his eyes on me every time I looked up.

“It took me a while to get here, Honey Bee.” He turned to look at me and I moved closer, as his arms came around me.

“I’m glad you stopped running. Now hopefully you’ll stay awhile.”

“That’s the plan.” He pushed his door open and pulled me into his arms, my legs coming around his waist and my boots clanking together behind him.

“You do know that I can walk, right?” I chuckled.

“I like carrying you. Like letting the world know that you’re mine.”

My stomach dipped at his words. Nothing had really changed in my mind. Not my feelings for him or the way I knew he felt about me, but he’d finally accepted it and that meant we actually had a chance.

“I think I’ve always been yours, Niko West,” I said, reaching for my key and shoving it in the door.

Once we were inside, he carried me to the couch and dropped me down and I bounced. He pulled off his coat and then reached for my boots.

I pushed to my feet and shoved him down, and his eyes widened with surprise.

“I like taking care of you too,” I said, untying his snow boots and pulling them off one at a time.

“Do you, Honey Bee?”

“I do,” I whispered as I climbed on his lap, straddling him as I unzipped my coat and let it fall to the floor.

“How do you want to take care of me, beautiful?” His hands rested on my waist as I leaned down to kiss him.

“Like this,” I whispered against his mouth.

We sat there making out on the couch for what felt like forever. I was so worked up I’d never been so desperate for more. My hands found the hem of his sweater and slipped beneath. I loved the feel of his muscled stomach and chest beneath my fingertips. He raised his arms and I pulled back to tug his sweater over his head. His gray gaze locked with mine.

He reached for my sweater and slipped it easily over my head, as his hand came around my back in one swift move and unsnapped my bra. His mouth covered my breast and I arched closer, tangling my hands in his hair. His mouth moved to the other breast, and a moan escaped my lips before I could stop it.

He chuckled against my skin, and it only made me want to do the same thing to him that he was doing to me.

I lifted up enough to reach his waistband and I unbuttoned his jeans, and he continued his slow torture, kissing his way back and forth between my breasts.
