Two Weeks Later

I walk into The Devil’s Den and take a look around. It’s a typical Friday night, and I’m thankful my shift had ended about half an hour ago, and I could now start my evening. I take in my surroundings again and see the usual faces and nod at a few people. I take a seat at the bar and order my routine drink. The bartender acknowledges me and after a few minutes hands me my blue martini.

“Thanks, Lisa,” I say, automatically taking a sip.

My phone vibes in my pocket, and as I pull it out, I see the cutest picture ever.

“Oh, my God,” I say to myself with a smile. Scarlett has sent me a selfie with both babies on either side of her chest fast asleep. David and Jocelyn are so adorable. I go over to her and Cole’s any chance that I can to get my baby cuddles in. I will probably swing by in the morning for a few hours before work.

“Hey there, gorgeous,” I hear from behind me. I spin around and lock eyes with the one man who I can’t get out of my head.

“Dusty, hi,” I reply.

His smile makes me weak. The way his eyes peak out from his hat has me wanting to pull it off of him myself.

He tips it at me. “May I?”

“Sure,” I answer to him, letting him know he can go ahead and join me.

Lisa comes back to take his order, and once she does, he faces me. “How’ve you been, sugar? We didn’t really get to talk last time.”

I hadn’t seen much of him. Hell, the last time had been the day of the twin’s birth, but after our moms had come to pull us away to bring us to Scarlett’s room, we hadn’t had the chance to talk afterward.

“I’ve been alright, and you?” I question.

He flashes me another one of his smiles, and I can’t help but smile back at this gorgeous man like an idiot. God damn, I wish things didn’t have to be so complicated for us. Why couldn’t we just keep fucking and keep seeing one another? Oh. That’s right. He had told me at one time that he loved me. That was a long time ago, after Cole and Scarlett’s wedding, but I couldn’t take any chances. It was a damn shame because I wanted him so much.

And now that I was watching him place his amazing lips on the bottle and sip on his beer, how much I wanted those lips tasting me instead.

Jenny-Rae, get a hold of yourself before you get... nope, too late. Already drenched.

I move a bit in my seat feeling the wetness in my panties. Is he always so quickly able to make me soaked?

“Honestly? Thinkin’ a lot about you,” he answers. His expression couldn’t be more serious at the moment.

How can I even begin to tell him I’ve been feeling the same way? No matter how many times I look at this situation, he’s always on my mind.
