With the advent of Information Technology, IoT is a new milestone which enhances the life of a common being to next level. This technology of smartness occupies its place in every field now-a-days, increasing the potential of connected things. Swarm Intelligence algorithm exhibit grouped behaviour of organisms. These SI algorithms can be used to present many solutions to many real-time complex problems. The combination of IoT and SI algorithms would pay a way for many more robust solutions.

The motivation of this chapter is to make the researchers, students and academicians aware of some commonly available Nature-inspired algorithms and how their features can be utilized for upgrading the existing IoT network. A variety of existing behaviour of animals/insects can be gathered to propose many new nature inspired algorithms. Several other SI algorithms whose theory is only proposed and implementation under development must be collaborated with IoT. To overcome the existing hurdles in IoT several other developing technologies such as block chains, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning should be joined hands with every aspect of IoT in the near future.
