Chapter Seventeen

“You think he’s cute!” Cassie flopped on Sasha’s bed once Derek was out of hearing range.

“What are you talking about?” Sasha said as she flopped down beside Cassie.

“Derek, you like him.” Cassie stated as she nodded towards the door.

Sasha rolled her eyes. “I still have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“I know you and I know the way you looked at him. I know you like him.”

“He’s attractive.” Sasha conceded. “But it’s not like he’s going to be around for much longer.”

“So get what you can while you can.”

“I can’t with you.” Sasha laughed.

“You can and will and always do.” Cassie climbed on top of her and wrapped her around her body giving her a bear hug.

“Ugh get off me.” Sasha pushed at her. “I’m tired and I want to take a nap.”

Cassie ignored Sasha’s weak attempts to get away and tightened her hold. “Not until you admit it.”

“Why? What’s the big deal?” Sasha whined.

“Because,” Cassie exclaimed like it was obvious. “Sasha as long as I’ve know you you’ve never liked a guy. Sure, you thought they were cute but you’ve never liked one. No one’s ever caught your eye like him.”

“Well sorry to burst your crazy bubble, I don’t know him well enough to like him.”

“It doesn’t matter.” Cassie shook her head. “You have time to get to know him and the spark is there. Plus,” she lowered her voice, “I saw the way he looked at you before he left the room. He was checking you out.”

“He was?” The question slipped from Sasha’s mouth and she regretted it the moment she saw the pleased smirk that crawled across Cassie’s face.

“See I knew it!” She rolled back to her knees and fist pumped.

“Knew what?” Danny asked as he entered the girl’s bedroom.

“We have a door.” Sasha rolled her eyes.

“In my house...” Danny retorted taking a seat on Cassie’s bed. “But that doesn’t answer my question,” He turned to Cassie. “What did you know?”

Cassie climbed off Sasha’s bed and walked over to Danny who reached out and grabbed her hand once she was close enough. “I knew that Sasha liked Derek and vice versa.” She smiled.

“Oh, I saw that coming a mile away.” Danny played with Cassie’s fingers.

Sasha rolled over to face them. “How?”

“The way you stared at him through the monitors...and the way he looks at you.”

“That doesn’t mean anything.” Sasha deflected.

Danny shrugged. “I wouldn’t say that, I’m a guy and I know how guys work, he looked at you like he wanted you.”

“And how sure are you about that?” Sasha asked.

“It was the same look I had when I saw this one.” He pulled Cassie closer to him. “So I am pretty sure.”

“You know I have a name.” Cassie rolled her eyes.

“Ok, enough of you two making eyes at each other. I just want to take a nap, so can you take this to your room Derek.” Sasha pulled her covers over her missing her mistake
