To the far right was FASCISM, named by Benito Mussolini. His supporters marched into Rome in 1922, demanding that Italy’s king put them in power. In next to no time, fascists controlled all of ITALY.

Fascism opposed communism and its idea of everyone sharing wealth. Instead, fascists believed in putting the country ahead of its people who should live in a rigid system where everyone knew their place.

FASCISM sought to appeal to people’s pride in their country, but quickly twisted into racism and hatred of other peoples, especially with Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party in Germany. Hitler believed in a German “master race” and planned to wipe out Jews and other peoples the Nazis considered inferior. Horrifying.
