My daily walk in the ravine is basically free. I schedule it around my work hours, so my only payment is sometimes a bit less sleep if I am starting my hike before an early workday. One of the studies presented in Williamsâs book suggests that positive health benefits can be found after only five more hours per month spent in nature. I feel this should be manageable for almost everyone, and because we know these effects may be even more important for children, time in nature should become a priority for everyone in your family; hopefully, this shift in thinking will make it easier for everyone to find the time. However, if finding time is the major obstacle when it comes to your immersion in nature, plan your breaks, weekends and maybe even some vacations with a focus on nature. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently limited by government travel restrictions. There is no better time to explore your own country! We have seen RV sales skyrocket and campgrounds reach capacity as a result. I am hoping this trend will continue and we will soon find ourselves with a whole new generation of outdoor enthusiasts.
