MODIFIED FOLDED LEAF POSTURE

In the folded leaf posture, you rest your forehead on your mat and your arms alongside your lower legs with your palms facing the ceiling. As opposed to the child posture, the modified folded leaf posture does not stretch the arm muscles. This posture is beneficial if you completely rest your arms and relax your shoulders. It feels more comfortable for a beginner if you try the modified version or use a bolster. With each exhalation, further lower your shoulders toward the mat or cushion, and with each inhalation feel the bow of your spine.
