Hyphenation

Word can automatically hyphenate your text for you. This can allow more text to fit on the page, particularly useful if lines of text are not very long. You can also choose manual hyphenation, where Word will prompt you for each potential instance. Hyphenation can be appropriate when working with a layout that uses many columns, such as a magazine or newspaper design.
