Demons Courting Death and Chaos

CHAPTER -15.5

Amidst the swirling chaos of the Astral battlefield, Ashana couldn't help but raise an eyebrow as she witnessed El Razz, the pompous Divine Origin god, attempting to erect what was intended to be an impressive command tent. With a flourish of his hand and a grand gesture that could have been mistaken for summoning an army, the tent sprang into existence. Or at least, it was supposed to.

Instead, what Ashana saw was a tent that looked like it was stitched together by a blindfolded celestial seamstress on a particularly sloppy day. The fabric sputtered and wriggled as if it had a life of its own, and the tent pegs seemed to have a vendetta against the ground, as they stubbornly refused to stay put. The entrance flaps flailed about like drunken flag bearers in a parade gone wrong.

Ashana suppressed a snicker, her senses bombarded by the tent’s aroma of cosmic embarrassment mingling with iridescent colors that clashed violently against each other. Leave it to El Razz to create a tent that rivaled his ego—grand in its intentions, yet executed with the grace of a three-legged celestial chicken.

Ashana strolled over as El Razz put the final, overly dramatic touches on what could only be called a monumental failure, held upright by self-indulgence.

His face lit up at her arrival, an expression that either signaled genuine joy or was simply the result of one too many compliments to his divine vanity.

"You're just the deity I was hoping to see," he said with an air of proclamation, as if his life had been incomplete without her Divine presence.

"That makes the two of us," Ashana said with a wry grin. "It feels like we have more to discuss. I see you've taken the initiative to set up a tent fit for those generals of yours who love themselves a little too much."

El Razz nodded, his flowing robes billowing as he made grand gestures. "Yes, it was most annoying fighting off hordes of demons while trying to hold a divine discussion away from commoners’ ears."

Ashana smiled. “One must have a haven of sophistication amidst the raging hordes of demons, lest one's brilliance be tainted by their common filth.”

As they approached the opulent entrance to the general's quarters, the chaotic sounds of battle served as a thunderous backdrop. He Xiangu and Hunter were carving a bloody path through the demonic masses.

Ashana's lips curled into a knowing smile as she glanced at Claude's brave band of thirteen initiates, battling alongside the divine forces as if they had a shot at emerging from this chaotic dance in one piece.

El Razz ushered Ashana inside the tent, and as she stepped through the entrance flap, she couldn't help but marvel at the spectacle within. It was as if a group of peacocks had decided to redecorate a circus tent. The interior gleamed with ostentation, an explosion of colors that screamed “divine overcompensation.” Crimson and gold tapestries adorned the walls, their patterns so intricate they could give you a migraine just by glancing at them.
