She starts calling for Ratina who is always in hiding. While I know all her hiding spots, I keep my mouth sealed, telling Sofia she must be out hunting. I feel slightly guilty knowing the cat hates to be continually picked up by Sofia. Just then, Mr. Morrone greets us with a big weathered smile on his face. He tells Sofia that he did indeed see Ratina hunting in the forest, giving me a quick wink. Hearing the dinner bell ringing, signaling it’s time to wash and eat, I scoop Sofia up. I throw her over my back telling her that Mama Morrone was requesting a bag of potatoes which brings a round of giggles from her. Between her joy and taking in a breath of fresh air, my soul is content for the moment.
