CHAPTER ELEVEN
Bowie
Watching her come on my hand was so beautiful. Her response is so natural, so innocent.
Looking at her makes me want so much more. I want⦠images of a future flash in my mind. But I canât. I wonât. Sheâs innocent, young. She needs flowers and sunshine. Everything that makes her happy. She doesnât deserve to be shackled to a world-weary soldier. Iâll always be tied to the darker side of life. I canât have her, but I need to at least taste her.
I can give her this. I can give her release and relaxation. Iâll protect her and get her somewhere safe. And Iâll have the memories.
I slide my arms under her hips as the last vestiges of her release fade. I palm her thighs, spreading them so I have access to her mound and blow gently across her sensitive nub.
She arches up on her elbows. I look up and smile. âI need a taste. Just a little one. Lay back and let me enjoy myself.â
Her scent makes me painfully hard. I tease her nub with the tip of my tongue then stroke it like Iâm licking ice cream. God. So much sweeter. The way her body arches and thrusts, sheâs gonna be a hot one when she comes into her own sensuality.
I stroke her again, raising my gaze. Eyes closed, sheâs plumping her breast and pinching her nipples. Fuck, I almost shoot my load watching her.
I lick and suck until her breaths escalate, and low moans escape her lips. Knowing sheâs close, I suck harder and gently rim her entrance with my finger until she arches and explodes.
Sliding up her body, I take her into my arms as she comes down. Sheâs so perfect. Grabbing the blanket, I flip it over both of us as I hold her against my chest. She falls asleep secure in my arms.
Is this what love feels like? This sudden need to possess and protect? Not wanting her out of my arms or sight even for a second?
Watching my dad screw up his marriage and my uncle constantly looking for the next financial connection soured me on marriage. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe I was looking in the wrong places. Maybe Iâve been looking at the wrong type of women.
Arm candy is sweet for a while, but too much sugar isnât a satisfying diet. Strong women arenât hanging out looking for an easy ride. Theyâre working their own asses off making a difference. Iâve seen the distinction in Cybill and Reggie. Although I havenât met all of the other women, I get the feeling theyâre the same. Jed and Steel were diehard bachelors. Now, theyâre in committed relationships.
Idly I stroke Charâs arm. Sheâs deceptive. She looks like a fragile flower. So innocent and trusting you could sweet talk her into anything. But sheâs got backbone and a temper when pushed. She kind of reminds me of the water hyacinth back home. Beautiful, but once they dig in itâs hard as hell to hold them back.
