Chapter Fourteen

The Man Wrapped in Darkness

Williams Northern Division

Industrial Corridor – Outside Williams Point, New York

I STOOD HIDDEN IN THE spirit realm, wrapped in my darkness, as the authorities I had anonymously alerted descended upon Alec’s company. I had provided information about the illegal dealings of the departments to the appropriate authorities, but I sensed something was horribly wrong when the authorities came to arrest those in charge of certain divisions.

First off, the department heads left the building freely with the ones who were supposed to be arresting them, and none of them walked out in handcuffs. They got into a black SUV, escorted by men with high-end, custom-tailored suits. I knew right away they were not police officers. They were other followers of Lucifer, and each one’s heart was completely possessed by a large and powerful demon. I could see they had no free will of their own because it had been replaced by the will of Lucifer. The Williams’ employees had smiles on their faces, and I assumed they believed they were being summoned to receive some type of promotion from their dark lord. I’d had seen those in Lucifer’s camp perform this type of tricky tactic before.

I followed each SUV as it left each building and drove to a desolate location. The Williams’ employees were executed before I could intervene. Some were strangled from the person in the back seat with piano wire, while others were shot in the head. One thing I knew for sure was Lucifer’s followers would see that none of the bodies would ever be found. These people had gotten what they deserved, and with their deaths, marked the end of the illegal activity hidden in those divisions. Alec and I would personally see to that, but someone had to be held accountable to the laws of man. I rushed to the Northern Textile Division where I saw Nick Gates as he strutted out of the main office building, arrogantly looked around, and buttoned his suit coat as he stared down the driver to open the door for him. Nick got in and they started down the road.

I rushed after the vehicle and followed it closely, because it didn’t take them long to get to an area that was heavily wooded. A guy sitting behind Nick quietly pulled a gun from under his jacket and pointed at the back of Nick’s head while the others in the car distracted him by making conversation. I blocked the gun from firing by commanding it in Jesus’s name to malfunction. I wasn’t going to let it be that easy for them, but apparently, I was wrong.

When the gun failed to fire, the man placed it in his lap, pulled a knife from his jacket, and slit Nick’s throat right as they drove past the area where Reviler caused my car to crash. I was enraged as I watched the life slip from Nick’s body, and his spirit was pulled from him.

He found himself in the middle of the road.
