‘What’s our plan?’ Lloyd asked.

‘I don’t have a plan,’ Phillipe said. ‘Not for the Golden Llama, anyway. The only plan I did have was to get you out of Mama Llama’s office before you snaffled her lounge.’

Lloyd licked his lips. ‘Was it that obvious? What gave it away?’

‘Oh, I don’t know,’ Phillipe said. ‘Maybe it was the green threads you kept spitting out or the bite marks on the headrest. No, wait. It was the fact that you declared undying love to our boss’s sofa!’

‘You saw all that?’

‘I’m a secret agent, Lloyd.’ Phillipe tapped his forehead. ‘I notice things.’

‘Speaking of noticing things, what do you think about that lady llama we met at Bottomburp’s party?’ Lloyd said. ‘Do you think she could be involved in the theft of the Golden Llama?’

‘If she’s working for Bottomburp,’ Phillipe said, ‘anything is possible. We’ll need to keep our eyes open for clues.’

The lift dinged and the doors opened. ‘Ground floor,’ a computerised lady llama’s voice announced.

The LOL secret agents made their way over to the fleet of Llamaborghinis.

Lloyd motioned to the lines of vehicles. ‘Okay, which colour?’

‘We’re on a mission to find the missing Golden Llama, so let’s choose gold.’

Lloyd nodded. ‘Can you give me directions? You would have been there heaps of times, right?’

‘Never. I was just bluffing.’

‘Wow.’ Lloyd shook his head. ‘You sure had Mama Llama fooled.’

Phillipe laughed. ‘That’s where the Llama Positioning System comes in handy. We punch the address in and the car does the rest.’

Lloyd slid into the driver’s seat of a nearby gold Llamaborghini and keyed ‘Musée du Llama’ into the system, selecting the ‘jet plane autopilot’ option. There were definitely perks to driving a LOL car.

Exhausted from a mission he’d been on the night before, Phillipe slipped into the passenger seat without complaint, and both llamas settled in for a long nap as the vehicle took off into the sky.
