Recipe 16 - Fluffy Cake Donuts

Ingredients:

Almond Extract ½ teaspoon

Hot Water 2 tablespoons

Confectioners' Sugar 1 cup

Shortening 1 teaspoon

Eggs, beaten 2

Milk ¾ cup

Ground Nutmeg ¼ teaspoon

Salt 1 teaspoon

Ground Cinnamon ¼ teaspoon

Baking Powder 2 teaspoons

White Sugar ¾ cup

Flour, All-Purpose 2 cups

Instructions:

To 325 degrees F preheat the oven. Grease (lightly) a donut pan.

Take a large-sized bowl, mix salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, sugar, and flour.

Mix in shortening, vanilla, eggs, and milk. Beat them together until blended well.

Fill all the donut cups to ¾ full. Bake them in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until the dough starts to spring back as it is touched. Let cool down before you remove it from the pan.

For the preparation of the glaze, blend almond extract, confectioners' sugar, and hot water in a small-sized bowl. Dip the donuts in it while you serve.
