Cocaine looked out the door and waited for the gorilla faced man to leave. How could he have done this? His father was supposed to be like a superhero, surely, he would just jump right back up, but when Cocaine went to his side and saw all the blood coming from his body, he didn’t know what to do. He couldn’t help his father even though he wanted to. He wanted to save his life, but he couldn’t.

Unfortunately, his father had trained him for a moment such as this. Juaqeen had told him in case something like this was to ever happen for him to go home and get Leon. He was the Alfred type from Batman. He was more than a butler, and even more than a friend; he was considered family.

Cocaine took one last look at his father and kissed him on the forehead. He whispered in his ear, telling him he’d see him again in the next lifetime, grabbed the car keys to his father’s vehicle, and jumped in the driver’s seat.

At ten-years-old, Cocaine was pretty tall, and he had seen his father drive a million times. Juaqeen had often let Cocaine ride in his lap and drive when they were just going around the block or to the store quickly, and because of this, Cocaine knew a little something about driving a car, hopefully enough to make it home.

Cocaine started the car and let the engine roar underneath his feet. He pulled his seat up, angling it just right for him to reach the pedals and to see over the dashboard. When he was comfortable, he checked his mirror like he’d seen Juaqeen do and like he’d been told to do many times himself when his father would give him his premature driving lessons.

His hands shook in fear as he tried putting on the seatbelt. The day’s events had him shook up. Before his revenge plot was birthed, all he felt was fear and inadequate. He felt poorly for not being able to do anything, for not being able to fix his father or help him when he needed him most, but his father had told him before that Leon would know what to do—all he had to do was make it home.

It was well in the afternoon now, and Cocaine hoped he wouldn’t be caught by the police in traffic. He knew how pigs could be, and that would be a terrible ending to an already fucked up day.

Cocaine drove carefully and cautiously, thinking about his father and how to get home, tears pouring from his eyes every second. He was more than tired, more than sad; this feeling that was rumbling inside him was something that he’d never experienced before. It was a feeling that he would later realize was rage.

Finally, pulling up to his house, the gates around his beautiful home opened once they saw Juaqeen’s car in view, but when Cocaine pulled into the archway of the driveway, he was stopped by one of the security guards.
