OUTSIDE THE TRAILER, detectives Mattias and Brown were leaning on the nearest Sheriff’s Office SUV, drinking cups of coffee. Both men stood up straight, aware of their supervisors' approach, as Browning walked towards them.

“Ok. This is our play. Brown, I need you to go back to where our officers have the streets blocked off with their squad cars. Pull your car up on the sidewalk, make sure you have a visual of Preston’s house, and wait for my signal to pull up to the house. Make sure to keep the car running and ready to go.” Browning said, reaching into the front leather cuff case of Mattias belt and retrieving a pair of silver handcuffs. Browning then placed the cuffs into the side pocket of his jacket. Brown turned, coffee cup in hand, and began speed walking towards the blocked-off street where the nearest township Police Department vehicle was located.

“Mathias, I want you to stay with Lieutenant Delgado in that trailer. More to the point, I need thirty or forty seconds of interference. Don’t get physical with him but impede his departure from the trailer for as long as possible. You know, stand in the doorway when he tries to leave.” Browning said, taking Mattias's cup of coffee out of his hand.

“So, what’s the plan?” McNamara said.

“Here, take these. Have them ready to slap on Preston when his back is towards you,” Browning said, removing the handcuffs from his pocket and handing them to McNamara. “Keep the cuffs out of site. If Delgado sees them in his camera, he may think something is up.”

Browning stepped up on the curb in front of the red brick single-story home belonging to Preston and removed the lid from the cup of coffee he had stolen from Mattias. The steam from the warmth of the liquid rose out of the cup, indicating its hot contents.

From the corner of his eyes, McNamara could see two five-person teams in body armor begin moving up the street, staying out of sight from the house's windows. The team members from the Sheriff’s Department blended their bodies with the shrubbery and short plastic fences surrounding the property.

“Stand on the bottom step. We want to block Preston’s vision to the street and keep your hands in your pockets. We want to appear non-threatening. When Preston’s back turns to you, come up the second step quick, grab the arm nearest to you, and slap the cuffs on him. I’ll pin the other arm behind him.”

The stairs leading to the side door of Preston’s house were also made of the same red brick with a painted white metal frame handrail. The outer door had a screen window and then a wooden door behind it. McNamara stood at the
