You deserve to eat good foods because you are worth it, and because eating good food is critical to enjoying good health.
Letâs make it simple:
1. When youâre hungry eat good calories not junk calories. This will kill your appetite although your âmindâ may still want to shove sweets into your face. But donât do it. You deserve better.
2. Allow yourself one or two âreward daysâ per week where you can eat your junk foods, but sparingly. But never eat foods with High Fructose Corn Syrup or strange chemicals like artificial flavors or colors. Find something better for you.
3. Donât B.S. yourself and give yourself a reward day when you didnât do any physical activities and SWEAT at least every other day. You decide.
4. When (not if) you screw up and binge eat or fall off the Aerobic House Cleaning Lifestyle⦠acknowledge it, forgive yourself, move on. Weâre human. Laugh at yourself.
5. READ THE LABELS ON ALL THE FOODS YOU BUY. Too many chemicals? Toss it.
6. NEVER eat anything made with High Fructose Corn Syrup⦠itâs poison. Yes I know I said this a few lines up but I need to repeat it so you remember it. This means NO soft drinks.
7. Become a food activist. Not buying foods with junk will send a message to those manufacturers or go online and email them.
Sometimes I open my fridge and notice there are cupcakes or cinnamon rolls or muffins and sweet treats hanging out.
You must realize these goodies are alive. They have personalities. And they are full of mischief, I assure you. I hear them call me. And I know that they know that I know what theyâre up to.
They want me to eat them to break my will power and crumble. To give in. Late at night, and always at night, I can hear the chocolate chip muffins calling to me with taunts and jeers. âCâmon Stevie! Eat me! I taste goooood. Câmon! Câmon! Câmon!
But I donât give in. I have a cup of tea with toast. I exchange good calories for the mischief calories who mock me. I win. I beat them like I have been beating them for the past 30 years or so.
The food combination with the most power over me is ice crème and peanut butter. I fight these every day. Most times I win. Itâs ugly when I lose.
