Set Up Audio Hijack 3

Audio Hijack 3 stores recording settings in a session. A session can be used just once, to make a one-off recording, but more often it is used repeatedly to create a similar type of recording using the same settings each time. If the built-in templates fit your needs, then you can use them. You can also create your own. I’ll walk you through creating a basic template for recording from a specific mic and adding some audio meters to check your input levels as you record. To get started, launch the program, and then carry out these steps:

At the bottom left of the Home window, click the New Session button to start a new session.

The Template Chooser opens. Select the template labelled Input Device, and then click Choose in the bottom right (Figure 34). Figure 34: The Template Chooser has several pre-made sessions. A new window opens, showing the default Input Device session. This simple session has only two boxes in the Audio Grid, called blocks: one for audio input and one for saving the recording itself.
