Getting a cab afterwards was easy. They were lined up for the opportunity of taking someone rich somewhere far. It was still rainy, but I only got a little wet. Lee and Stas must have come home much later than I did, after I was asleep. Lee had made it a point to say I need not be on duty until noon, but I was up and about at 8:30, in case coffee or breakfast were wanted. And sure enough, Stas appeared in the kitchen around 11:00 and was happy to be offered some eggs.
