CHAPTER 14
JADE
âIâm beginning to worry about you too much, and I donât like it,â*
The words played over in my head like a broken record. There was nothing to the words if I was being serious. It was not a confession of feelings. The words werenât romantic at all, but yet, when Anton said the words, I folded. Maybe it was the way his eyes darkened and fell to my lips right after he said it, or maybe it was because he was holding my hand, treating my wound as he said it, or maybe it was the way he looked at me as he said the words that sent butterflies to my stomach and a flood in between my legs. I wasnât sure what it was, but afterward, I was hot and bothered, ready to let myself go with him again if not for his stupid phone call that interrupted us.
I sighed and rubbed on my injured finger, which now had a fresh dressing. I told myself I would sleep the minute my head touched my pillow. I was tired enough to sleep the minute I entered my room, but after a warm shower and whatever spell Anton put on me, I could only close my eyes, but I couldnât sleep, and the worst part? Anton mustâve been sleeping while I suffered. I wanted, no, needed Anton badly; that much was obvious, but he made it clear the last time that he didnât want to have sex with me again, and I wasnât pathetic enough to beg him to have sex with me. I sighed.
If the problem was just being horny, it wouldâve been better because there were a few ways I could satisfy myself, but I was horny for Anton, and I hated it because there was no way out.
âIâm beginning to worry about you too much, and I donât like it,â*
âOh, Lord!â I grabbed one of the three pillows on my bed and yelled into it. I turned on my side and carried my phone to check the time; it was ten minutes past two. I had to sleep, or else Iâd wake up late for work, and if I woke up late, thereâd be no way to escape a strike. So, I pushed myself out of bed and started jumping.
My father always said that the easiest and fastest way to sleep is to get tired. If I were tired, I wouldnât have time to think about Anton and his words, and then I could sleep; I jumped higher, or at least I attempted to by folding my legs when in the air. I started sweating after a few jumps, so I was on the right track until a knock interrupted me. I wiped my face went to the door, and opened it, even though I was surprised that Anton was awake by that time.
I was immediately faced with a shirtless Anton when I opened the door, and damn, he looked every bit like the man that rocked
