Nine

Sam had no clue what had come over Maty.

She had wrapped herself around him, plastering her body against his, kissing him like she’d been waiting the entire sixteen years to do so.

Sam gripped her backside and pulled her pelvis against his as he returned the passionate kiss. They’d been working up to this since that first moment she’d strolled into his office. She was too damn smart, too damn sexy, too damn...emotionally out of his reach.

Except now. And wasn’t that what he wanted? The physical?

Sam sure as hell didn’t have time to nurture a relationship. Hell, he was taking care of his company, his mother, getting started with a new brother, and maybe another... Then there was Rusty.

Not someone Sam wanted to filter through his mind while he had a handful of Maty.

Sam released her mouth, but nothing else.

“Why now?” he asked, trying to catch his breath.

She licked her lips and Sam’s entire body tightened in response. He started walking her backward while she spoke.

“Because I want this,” she told him as she nipped his chin. “And because, for tonight, I want to forget all the secrets and all the fears and every outside source that’s telling me this is a mistake.”

Fears. He knew she had them and he wanted more than anything for her to lay them all on him so he could protect her. But once again she was putting her career ahead of him. He expected nothing less, but that didn’t mean he had to like it.

Why wouldn’t she let him help? Yet another topic he didn’t want to settle between them...

He wanted nothing more than to erase everything and everyone except this moment right here.

As he urged her into the warehouse, he quickly glanced away from her and punched the code before turning on a minimal amount of lighting and locking the door behind them. The hour grew later, they were alone, but he wasn’t taking any chances.

Sam lifted her until her legs locked around his waist. He carried her to the side where an old bench sat next to the door.

“Is this part of the tour?” she asked with a smile.

“You’re getting the exclusive VIP.”

He sat her down and before he could reach for her clothes, she had her hands on his jeans. He wasn’t about to stop a woman who clearly knew what she wanted. To know she was still so passionate, so ready for this, only turned him on even more.

The moment she jerked his pants and boxer briefs down, Sam reached behind his neck and grabbed a fistful of T-shirt and yanked it over his head.

Sam turned them and sat on the bench. Then he looked up and his eyes locked with hers. He’d never seen a more beautiful sight. Her lids were heavy with desire, her lips swollen from his. There was no hesitation, nothing that made him think she’d have regrets later. She had the slightest smile, a strand of hair had fallen over her forehead and down onto her cheek.
