ISLA

The morning felt fresh.

I woke up recalling the conversation of the previous day.

Yes, he was a wealthy guy and it would be a pleasure to work with him if and only if I can work for him.

I took out his business card and texted him that I was ready. We didn’t really exchange numbers when we spoke.

He texted me to wait for his chauffeur. I was happy and tensed. I hope it turns out well.

I was nervous.

Well, it was a date. I accepted because of Aria, and it’s been a long time since I went out on outings like this. Plus, I needed to know what he had to say. So, I guess this was a good opportunity.

I was dressed in a short floral gown with six-inch heels. I had very light makeup on.

A white Limousine pulled up while I was going through my phone.

A tall slender man stepped out and approached me. “Miss Isla?”

“Yes, that’s me.”

“Pleased to meet you. Mr. Tannon asked I pick you up.”

“Well, here I am,” I said sarcastically.

“After you ma’am.” he said, trying to hide his smile.

“I know you are trying to act professional but sometimes let it out,” I said, smiling widely at him.

We drove off and we arrived at a big restaurant – Enoteca Pinchorri. I’ve read about these places and trust me; they are known for their incredible food.

As soon as I alighted the Limo, Tannon approached me.

I could bet I would have fallen off in awe.

He looked like a fallen angel in his dark suit and his charming endearing eyes.

“I’m glad you came.” He said, smiling at me. Gosh, that smile!

He brought out his arm and we walked in together.

“Do you want anything to eat first off?” He asked me in a calm tone. And for some reason, it made me feel at ease, but I wasn’t hungry.

“Not really. Let’s go straight into what you wanted to discuss with me.” I replied politely.

“My secretary, Lydia told me about you and how you handled Aria in this very short period you both met. I’m pleased to hear that. Not everyone pays attention to her you know; not like I’m expecting them too though.”

“Permit me to ask, why is she at the winery most of the time? Does she work there too?” I asked him teasingly.

He laughed heartily. He sounded like he hadn’t laughed for that long and well, I was right. He confirmed it in his next statement, lol.

“You must be very hilarious. I haven’t laughed this long in a while.” He said. “Well first off, she isn’t there most of the time. Well, not like the way you put it. You just happened to meet her when she was around. She goes to school and has other hobbies that keep her engaged.”

“It’s just that anytime she is not in those places. She has to be with me.” He replied. I noticed he lowered his tone when he said that.

I wanted to ask about the mom because, in the discussion so far, none of that was mentioned.
