STILL FRIDAY…

I looked down at my watch as it turned ten p.m.

I picked up another glass of whiskey and downed it in one gulp.

She was dead wrong. I didn't believe a word of what she said. And yet, it only made me think about her even more.

Egotistical?

Not.

A mistake?

Far from it.

What was so wrong about wanting more from her? What was so bad about me that she couldn't imagine herself with me? Of course, I could enjoy more than sex from her. Why didn't she believe me?

I felt the alcohol creeping into my system, and my eyesight blurred.

If anyone was being egotistical, it was her. I could get any woman I wanted and forget about her. There was a reason I couldn't stop thinking about her, and maybe, just maybe, it was the sex's fault.

I looked up at the women around the club's VIP section and watched as most turned their heads to face me, even those with partners. One of them got up off a couch and walked toward me.

Instantly, I felt withdrawn, and my earlier resolve melted away.

"Need company?" she asked as she slyly adjusted her top.

"No."

I raised a hand and waved it, getting my bodyguard, who was somewhere around, to alert my driver. I had to get out of here. I got up and left the woman, who looked a little stunned, then almost stumbled my way out of the dimly lit club.
