Getting more rest and relaxation doesn’t mean being glued to an easy chair, lying around all day in front of the TV. Instead, focus on how you can incorporate more regenerative practices into your life. Whether that’s going on an evening walk, people-watching on a bench in the park, reading a good book, riding your bike, spending the day in bed with a lover, taking an afternoon nap, wandering around an art museum, seeing live music, camping, or being creative in your room or among friends, rest and relaxation is entirely based on what makes you feel rejuvenated.

Whatever your relaxing activity may be, one crucial piece that should be the undercurrent of achieving more rest and relaxation is slowing down more often. Slowing down allows you to notice the world around you and notice how your body feels day to day. Herbal allies, flower essences, and some lifestyle tweaks will support you tremendously in this pursuit, but you’ll also need to pause and consider what’s motivating your need to consistently be distracted and on the go. Remember, you’re in charge of your life; you’re in charge of setting your schedule and asserting your boundaries. So be sure to prioritize some TLC. Try making a list of practices and actions that you can do daily, weekly, and monthly to support you in feeling more rested and rejuvenated.
