Chapter Ten

Alexis

I swore my lips still tingled from the night before as I went through my day, doing my best to focus on work, on my wedding couples, and my distributors. Yet, all I could do was remember the scent of Eli. The scent I shouldn’t be thinking about, and yet it was right there. Etched onto my skin and into my memories forever.

How could I still recall his taste after only a few kisses? We hadn’t done anything beyond that, both of us knowing that we had other complications in the way.

But it was hard not to want more, to wonder who we could be if we just tried.

I shook my head and focused on my work. I had six weddings on the books and seven more consultations to see if I would be able to schedule them later in the next year. I only had certain days of the month for weddings, as others were booked for Elliot and his events. He didn’t have as many as I did, though, at least when it came to the big rooms. He worked mostly on the smaller events with small groups.

But for now, I got to work with some of the most wonderful couples I have worked with so far.

Luke and Tracy were first, and they wanted a Cinderella ball on the ranch. Well, at least Tracy did, and Luke went along with it because he had stars in his eyes when he looked at her.

I couldn’t help but smile, and I knew that a Cinderella ball on a European villa smack dab in the middle of South Texas was going to be a treat. But it was going to work.

Colin and Adam wanted a classic farm wedding that was going to put anybody else’s social media to shame if I had anything to say about it. Emily and I were having a blast with the two guys picking out the perfect shades of purples and grays to go on the large picnic benches that we were going to use as the main table. We were going to put ten of them in a row, with a large runner and individual place settings. It was going to look gorgeous and slightly full.

Justin and Hannah wanted elegant French on a ranch. When they’d first told me that, I’d been puzzled for a moment, but I realized that with the architecture of the villa and the white pavers that created their own design in the middle of the entrance, we could make this work. It was going to be slightly Parisian, slightly ranch, but it was going to blend if I had anything to say about it.

Lucinda and Harvey wanted a classic small wedding and just wanted a space that all of their family could visit. They weren’t inviting many people outside of their family,
