Lumpy Ridge and Gem Lake Trailheads

From the intersection of Highway 34 and MacGregor Avenue in Estes Park, take MacGregor Avenue northeast for 1.3 miles to the turnoff for the Lumpy Ridge Trailhead and Gem Lake Trailhead. Drive another 500 yards north on Lumpy Ridge Road to the parking lot. Vault toilets are available. These trailheads access the Twin Owls, Lumpy Ridge, and Gem Lake Trails.

Cow Creek Trailhead

From the intersection of Highway 34 and MacGregor Avenue in Estes Park, travel 3.4 miles northeast on MacGregor Avenue/Devils Gulch Road to McGraw Ranch Road. An electronic sign at the start of the road will tell you if the parking lot is full. If it’s not, travel 2.1 miles on McGraw Ranch Road to the Cow Creek Trailhead parking area. Vault toilets are on the Cow Creek Trail (behind McGraw Ranch). This trailhead accesses the West Creek Falls and Bridal Veil Falls Trails.

Do not attempt to park anywhere other than a designated spot; parking rules are strictly enforced and cars will be towed. To start hiking, walk toward McGraw Ranch (an historic ranch-turned-park-research facility) and follow the small sign next to the green gate that says “Trail.”
