Louis Armstrong by Joel Newsome
Author:Joel Newsome
Language: eng
Format: epub
Publisher: Cavendish Square Publishing, LLC
While white Americans struggled with how to appropriately interact with black American culture and people, Armstrong was just interested in making music. He did his best to avoid talking about anything he deemed to be too politicalâunderstandable considering he grew up under harsh segregation, violence, and extreme poverty. Still, Armstrong didn't care who was playing an instrument; if it sounded good, he wanted to play with them. This desire to connect with fellow musicians led him to form one of jazz's first deep friendships across the color line.
