Then there’s her brother’s room, which is neither organized nor messy—it’s open and simple. Whatever the case, your room is in many ways a reflection of you, and vice versa. Although you and your room are separate entities, you are dependent upon each other. You can affect the room’s condition, and the room’s condition—whether clean or dirty, too cold, too hot, or just right—can affect yours.

“In the same way, our greater surroundings, such as work, school, family, and our natural environment, compose the rooms of our lives. We can allow them to contain us and influence our condition, or we can choose to contain them and influence their condition. The difference lies solely in our choice of direction: growing up, or growing down.”
