Leonard found his old smile.

“Greetings old friend.”

Leonard flashed a big grin.

“It’s been a long time,

nice to find you again!”

He offered some cheese

to the little gray mouse

then placed the bird’s nest

in a tree by the house.

He used the old pan

to cook sausage and peas

* * *

then shampooed the dogs

to get rid of their fleas.

* * *

When he was finished,

he put on the tie

and with the two apples

made sweet apple pie.
