“Come on, Love, what's the worst that could happen?” Jameson asked, reaching across the bar to graze his hand up my arm, his thirsty glare drinking me in.

“I can't,” I whispered. But the vibration pulsing through my body told me I was dead wrong.

Imagining his chiseled chest pressed against me was just about all I could think about.

But it wasn’t going to happen.

Not today, Satan.

Ambling back, I bumped the row of alcohol on the shelf behind me, nearly knocking over the bottle of thirty-year-old Glenlivit Michael had been saving for a special occasion, which would never come. Taking a deep breath, I shook the memory away, and inched far enough forward to avoid bumping it again, but not close enough for the heat radiating from his intense gaze to reach me.

The only solace I had was that bar.

The three-foot piece of wood was all that protected me from the man who I'd been eye fucking all night.

Actually, all month.

If it weren’t there, I might melt right into him and find out how amazing all that thick brown hair felt between my fingers. All I needed was the stiff slab of wood to disappear, and I’d be pressed against the ripples of his hard pecs. The ones I could tell through his crisp, white, skin tight t-shirt were well-kept. If this stupid barrier were gone, I would get to skate my hands across his delicious bearded stubble. And I could finally experience the heaven of having those plump lips on my skin.

“You don't even love him anymore. Do you, Love?” his deep Irish brogue growled. “Why don't you just give—”
