Calum

My stomach twisted into knots. It was time. She had to know the truth.

I ogled the sight of her, seated on the chair, her head tilted back to look at me. She looked so confused. I cringed at the realization that when I told her the truth, she might turn away from me forever.

“Nina?”

She lifted her brows, arched over large almond-shaped brown eyes. “Hmm?”

“There’s something you should know.”

She stood up, and my heart skipped a beat. Her hands slid up my chest to my neck and her thumb rubbed my bottom lip. The reflection of the ocean in her irises stole my breath. She shook her head slowly, and my eyes closed when her soft lips trailed along the curve of my jaw, down to my throat. Her hands sild under the fabric of my shirt to stroke my chest.

My breath hitched. I knew exactly what she was doing. She was stopping me. She didn’t want to know the truth, not right now. She wanted something else.

I clutched her hands over my chest, pinning them onto me, and turned my head to the side. Her lips found mine and the soft brushing strokes only fanned my fiery need into an inferno.

Her shattered breath against my lips made me pull away from the handrail. Holding her hand, I led her along the deck and down into the cabin.

The wide berth was covered in fresh white sheets. Without a word, she sat atop the edge and leaned back on her hands.
