The next few days were uneventful. DeShawn would sit outside reading a book and occasionally watch a fighter jet land or take off. One the third evening, DeShawn was awoken from his sleep by Mahammed.

“They are here. It’s time to rise.”

“Now?” DeShawn asked.

“You will get used to it. It is the way. Train at night, hide during the day. If they see you during the day, you will have a gun pointed in their direction.”

DeShawn walked out of his room to find five men of Arabic decent, all wearing turbans and donning Arabic attire.

“This is the young man I spoke of.”
