To make students less resistant to, and worried about, evaluation, allow them some choice in the process. You might give students the option to do an online presentation (video, narrated slide show, animation) instead of a traditional in-class speech with slides. To ensure students show each other attention and respect during presentations and demonstrations, include a grade that reflects their comments on/evaluation of other students’ work.
