Making Another Lanyard

There are some kids who, without encouragement, would choose to spend their entire time at camp making lanyards. These are often the same kids who are hesitant to try a new activity, club, or sport. Because of this, our camp’s program is set up to require kids to go to every activity, with their group, even the activities they would not choose to sign up for. While they’re not forced to participate, they do still need to go with their group, see what the activity is about, and watch their cabin mates participate. In most cases, because they feel comfortable and encouraged by their counselor and friends, they end up giving the new activity a try.
