Chapter Six

Carter

I hate seeing Tati so sick like that. It’s after lunchtime now and we haven’t heard from her, so I assume she’s gone back to sleep. Desmond has been texting her for the last hour or so with no response.

I am sitting on a stool by my toolbox when my phone dings in my pocket. I pull it out hoping it’s Tatiana, but it’s a number I don’t recognize.

Included with the text is a video. As soon as I hit play, anger courses through me. I sit and watch the video of John fucking Tatiana from behind. There is a mirror in front of them that the camera is facing. Tatiana is moaning his name while he thrusts into her. He smacks her ass and she moans louder.

“What the fuck are you watching?” Desmond asks as he walks up. I have no words. I am so goddamn angry right now. How did we not see this coming? She was legitimately sick this morning and now she’s out fucking her ex-boss?

“What the fuck is this?” Desmond growls. “Why the fuck would she do that to us?”

“I don’t even know what to say,” Mitchell says flatly.

“I do,” I snap. “I want her the fuck out of the house. Now.”

“If we can even get ahold of her to tell her,” Desmond mumbles.

We all take turns calling and texting over the next two hours, trying to get her to pick up. Finally, we’ve had enough.

When the voicemail sounds, I just leave my message instead. “I can’t believe you would do something so low. We loved you so fucking much and this is what we get? You lie? You cheat on us? I hope getting fucked by John was worth it, Tatiana. I hope he can make you happy. I hope losing us is everything you wanted from this. Get your shit and be out of the house by the time we get home. Go back to New York for all I care. We don’t want to see or hear from you again. We are done with you.” I end the voicemail and slam it down on the top of my toolbox.

“She fucking played us,” Desmond says.

“We need to talk to her,” Mitchell says.

“What’s there to talk about? She fucked him. She cheated on us,” I snap at him.

“I know,” he sighs. “It’s just hard to believe that she’d do something like this.”

“Believe me… I know,” I frown.
