“Asshole, wake the fuck up. You are going to miss practice and Coach will be pissed,” Connor shouts at me, smacking the back of my head.

“Fuck.” I groan, wincing at the pain that radiates my skull. Practice is going to be a bitch today. I shouldn’t have had those extra shots. Or at least not gone shot for shot with Nate. I wonder if he’s as hungover as I feel right now. Connor slams my door and I roll over. The Alexa in our kitchen blasts some heavy metal shit and I groan again, rubbing my head with my palms. I guess the asshole is still mad at me. But, I mean, he has a right to know what his ‘girl’ was doing behind his back. It’s always the quiet ones you have to watch. I never thought Cara would be the type. The music cuts off and Connor yells at me to get my ass up. I glance over to the bedside table and smile. He gave me a steaming mug of coffee, a glass of OJ, and an over-the-counter pain reliever. Even when he’s mad, he still loves me. I grab the pills and down the juice, before sipping the coffee. I don’t have time to shower, but I usually wait till after practice anyways. I throw the sheet off my body and shiver—I guess I got naked last night—and place my feet on the cold floor and jump up and down a few times. My stomach twists, but I ignore it. I bend down and throw on some clean boxers and sweats, not bothering with a shirt. I open the door to the main dorm and sigh. Connor is sitting there at the table, with his head in his hands. I walk over and wrap his neck in a chokehold giving him a hug.

“Do you think I lost her to that Hawthorne dick?” he asks in a broken voice. Removing my arm, I walk to the fridge, I grab a bottle of water and chug it down. “I don’t know man, but from what I saw, they were three seconds from fucking in public.”

He growls and stands from the table. The chair falls to the floor, but he ignores it.

“Seriously dude. She is just a chick. Go find a new one.” I mean she’s seriously hot, but still only a chick, right. He stomps around the dorm, slamming cupboards and making a lot of unnecessary noise. He turns to face me, his face is beet red and he’s visibly shaking in anger. Fuck, I need to calm him down.

“She told me just the other night that she didn’t want anything serious. That she liked someone else too. I told her I could do this, but not even twenty-four hours later she's dry humping a fraternity asshole, when her scent is still on my fingers.”

I cringe at that and he rolls his eyes, “Not fucking literally dude. I have showered since then, but you get what I’m saying.” I nod and rub my eyes, fuck I am not equipped for this shit right now.
