Let’s take a closer look at this and note some relevant observations:

There are only 2 letters that have single symbols—the E (1 dot) and the T (1 dash).

If you put the letters E and T together, you get A (dot dash).

If you put the letters E, T, and A together, you get dot dash dot dash. This is the simplest alternating pattern possible. Recall that Eta is the first word that dropped out of our binary block analysis.

In keeping with our focus on the number 3, notice that there are only 2 letters that use a symbol 3 times alone with no other symbol—the S (dot dot dot) and the O (dash dash dash). Put these letters together in the simplest alternating pattern and we get SOS, the international distress signal. It means either “Save Our Ship” or “Save Our Souls.”
