“How was your book club last night, Juls?” Decklan asks when he joins me in the kitchen.

A few months ago we decided to take a night a week away from each other. He thinks I joined a book club and has no idea that I go to Club Wonderland.

Slightly choking down the bit of hot coffee, I sit beside him. “It was good. How was the basketball game with the guys?”

“Exhausting. I’d rather we just meet at the bar and shoot pool or darts. Something less physical.”

“Why haven’t you voiced your opinion to your friends?”

“I have. They all want to play once a week to keep in ‘shape.’” He curls his fingers like a quotation mark. “I tried telling them a once-a-week basketball game won’t keep any of us in shape as long as we’re going to the bar afterwards.” He huffs out a breath. “You know them, Julia. Stubborn as fuck.” He drags his hand through his short chestnut hair and scratches his lightly scruffy jawline.

Decklan keeps himself in good shape. He doesn’t need to play basketball; his DNA keeps him fit. At six-foot-two and two hundred pounds of solid muscle, abs for days, strong arms, and thick thighs, he’s the epitome of health. And has the most gorgeous emerald eyes I’ve ever seen.

I won’t ever tell him to stop playing though. I need my secret night at Club Wonderland.

He stands and grabs his briefcase. Leaning down, he kisses my cheek. “See you later.” He walks toward the kitchen door leading to the garage. We still own the security company together, but I let him handle the day-to-day grind. I come in if something falls apart, such as a catastrophic breach. I really don’t want our marital issues destroying our successful business. But we need to talk about the incident at the office soon.

After he’s gone, I walk into the bedroom and open my computer. Clicking on the private app Kid and I have for recording our night of unbelievable sex, I fall back onto the pile of pillows. I know I was there and lived it but reliving it as often as I want is nearly as fulfilling.

Knowing I have the evening to myself, I decide to go to Club Wonderland even though I don’t have a date with Kid. I call to make sure there’s a dressing room available. Thankfully I managed to reserve one.

I gather myself, shower and find something special to wear.
