Roberta had left the apartment house, driving her F-150 five minutes before the girl in the yellow Camaro took the newly vacated parking spot at the curb. She left the car and walked to the door of the Carty apartment. As usual, she was stunning, a dark red leather shorty jacket over a filmy black blouse over a short leather skirt that matched the jacket. Her dark hair was pulled back into a ponytail behind a wide red hairband. Her heels were four-inch Italian imports, and her purse cost more than the engagement ring she had received from her beau in White Oak, Tennessee. This was her second visit this week. The two pairs of eyes observing from the smoking area two floors above watched appreciatively as she approached.

Carty opened the door, greeted her warmly, and closed the front door as he hugged her, his hands making their way to her rear end after less than ten seconds. “Hi, baby doll! Man, you look good enough to eat!”

She smiled coyly at him. “Well, if that’s what you’re into.” She smiled up at him, “Your surgeries are going great, Grant! I can’t tell you how great that work looks.”

“You think so? Well, thank you, baby doll. Doc seems to be a good one. I like his work. I have a few more sessions with him, and then the fine-tuning will start.”

She put her hand to his cheek and stroked the refurbished surface ever so delicately with the first knuckle of her index finger. “It feels good,” she whispered. “You’re gonna be a really handsome dude here before long. Are we doing the usual business this afternoon?”

“Sure thing, baby doll.” Carty reached toward the end table next to the sofa, opened the drawer, withdrew a folded-closed manila envelope, and handed it to her. “There’s a little extra in it this time. I know this place is out of your way. You live way out in West Hollywood, doncha?”

His personal remark made her flinch a bit, and she changed the subject. She placed the envelope in her purse as she rose from the sofa. He stared, transfixed. She turned slowly toward him and put her dainty, manicured index finger on his lips. His gaze shifted to her suspended breasts, and he smiled. She whispered, “We don’t discuss personal information, Grant.” She smiled and changed the subject. “How ‘bout you take me into the bedroom and show me how strong you’re becoming?”
