“They are gone,” Wyatt said as he sat down at the table with us.

“Fuck.” Beau muttered.

“They must have packed up and left during the night. No trace of them except for the note on the door saying they didn’t sign up for this.” Wyatt added and I winced.

All the men had left which meant it was only the four of us to run this place. Doable but not easy.

“That doesn’t leave us in a good position with the Chase situation either. What are we supposed to do? We can’t run this place as well as help them out. There is a storm warning for this weekend which means we have to move the cattle from the paddock they are in. It’s prone to flooding.” William added and I grimaced before a knock on the front door caught our attention.

Beau grabbed the rifle and stepped in front of me before I could get to the door. When he opened it, he sighed at the man with his eyebrows raised.

“If you have a gun out, must be serious,” Mikhail said as he looked between Beau and me.

“Sorry man. It’s been a tough week.” Beau muttered as he stepped aside to let Mikhail in.

“I can see that. Don’t worry. We will get it sorted out.” He added before he looked at the car.

I followed his gaze to the minivan and stared at Anatoly and Gabriel fussing over a very pregnant Rosslyn, a little girl half asleep on Gabriel's shoulders.

“You brought your family? Mikhail, it isn’t safe.” I said, my heart aching as I realized that I had a niece I didn’t even know yet.

“You try telling Rosslyn what she can and can’t do while pregnant. We tried and we lost and trust me when I say the three of us tried. Hormonal Rosslyn is like living with the devil. Ask Gabe. He has the bruise to show for it.” He muttered as he walked inside, grinning at William.

“Well look at you, no longer a little kid.” He said and William rolled his eyes as he shook his hand.

“Hey, Mik. Been a while.” They did some handshake thing that I had seen them do when they were younger, and I sighed.

“I can walk on my own, Anatoly. If you try to carry me, I swear to god, I will bite you.” Rosslyn snarled and I snorted as I tried to cover the laugh.

Her eyes swung to me as Anatoly held his hands up and backed away.

“Hello Rosslyn. It’s good to see you.” I said as she smiled. I pulled her in for a hug, her pregnant belly making it awkward. I glanced at Gabriel who was rubbing the little girl's back.

“Gabriel. Nice to see you too.” I held the door open as Anatoly held onto Rosslyn’s arm as she stepped up the small step into the door.

“Let me go.” She snapped and he sighed, smiling at me.

“Anatoly,” I said with a grin and waited until they walked in. Beau met my eyes with a look of interest.
