BUTTE CREEK FALLS TO ABIQUA FALLS

ELEVATION: 1820 ft at Upper Butte Creek Falls; 1720 ft at Butte Creek Falls; 1150 ft at Abiqua Falls; with vertical gains of about 200 ft for both falls on Butte Creek, and about 850 ft for Abiqua Falls where most people park before the road becomes too rough for 2WD passenger cars (only 300 ft from the official TH)

DISTANCE: 1 mi round-trip loop for Butte Creek Falls; 4 mi round-trip for Abiqua Falls where most people park (1 mi round-trip from the official TH)

DURATION: 1 hour round-trip with breaks for either falls from the official THs; 2–3 hours round-trip for Abiqua Falls with the longer route; 3–5 hours round-trip combining both hikes

DIFFICULTY: Mix of moderate for Butte Creek Falls (brief, solid trails, drop-offs, steeper overlook for Butte Creek Falls may be omitted) and strenuous for Abiqua Falls (very steep bushwhack paths, tough if muddy, ropes in place, fairly brief, negotiating riverbank)
