Or we can haul them down in your rig which could be the fastest way.” Beck doesn’t answer but seems to be thinking about it. She doesn’t seem interested in that idea… I think she just wants a little more time here at the homestead and I get that. She’s barely settled in and hasn’t had enough time to enjoy it the way she wants.

“I’ve called the transporter several times but can’t reach him. I’ll try again. Figured you’d have a truck and trailer I can use so no reason to take mine unless we have to.”

“We need to get hold of him and get it set up. But we have to get travel for the horses worked out… like yesterday.”

“You seem nervous, Clint. Are you?” she asked.

“My gut has a bad feeling, real bad… we’re running out of time.”
