Nelle ignored the ringing phone, choosing to go back to her very compelling dream. She was in bed with Grayson Monk. Desire lit his golden-brown gaze. His mouth covered hers before moving to her neck, her breasts, and down her stomach—

The phone rang again. Nelle groaned and rolled over, punching her fist into the oddly hard pillow to find a more comfortable spot.

A loud male grunt caused her eyes to fly open.

Her head wasn’t on a pillow, but a firm, warm and very male chest. She raised her head to find the object of her dream gazing down at her, sleepy amusement in his gaze.

“Good morning to you, too. And I think that’s your phone.”

“Sorry.” Her brain went into overdrive, vibrating between two thoughts. She was in bed with Grayson. She had a meeting.

She. Was. In. Bed. With. Grayson.

And she was naked.

She pulled the sheets around her, scrambling to put some distance between them, only for Grayson to tug her head back down to his for a long, senses-drugging kiss. She blinked at him when he broke contact. What was she supposed to be doing again? His kiss drove all thoughts away.

He reached across her, found her ringing phone on the bedside table, and handed it to her. She took it from him with a discomfited smile. “Thanks.” Then she looked at the screen and threw back the covers, heedless of her state of undress. “It’s my alarm. For my meeting with Reid Begaye.”

Last night she’d done her best to embrace her new philosophy, telling herself to act confident, bold, unashamed.

Only she didn’t have to act. He made her feel beautiful—no, that wasn’t it, exactly. He made her feel like she was enough. Enough to be desired. Enough to be worshipped.

Enough for him.

Nelle liked being enough. It was a good change, feeling she didn’t have to apologize for not being prettier or smarter or more sophisticated. And she had never been so aware of a man’s appreciative gaze before. Harry’s gaze hadn’t lingered and it had certainly never caressed.

She could bathe in the light shining in Grayson’s eyes all day.

She exited the bathroom, clad in gray fine wool trousers and a navy blue cashmere sweater so fine it floated over her skin as if spun from mist by angels. Grayson was in the living room, intent on his laptop. He was also shaved and showered thanks to the second bathroom, his dark blond hair showing the tracks of the comb he’d used to tame it for the time being. It was hard to believe the man who looked every inch a Silicon Valley executive in his crisp white shirt, sport coat and tailored trousers was the man whose skin she had explored with her fingers, lips, tongue.

“Hey,” she
