SIXTEEN – AVERY

It’s hard to get through a day of teaching, knowing that Carlyn and Nathan are still together. I’m suspicious of the whole “needed to run an errand in a random town two hours away and lost my keys” story that Nathan gave me, but Carlyn’s emotions felt genuine when she told me she missed me.

More than once, while standing in front of a classroom of kids, my mind flashes back to the things I said on the phone last night and the things I had Nathan do to her, and I feel myself turning beet red. I can’t believe I did that. I have never done anything even remotely like that in my life. But Carlyn? She makes me want to do things I’ve never done before.

Finally my work day is over. I check my phone and I have two new messages. The first one is from Ben: Mom is coming home from the hospital today. Do you think you could help me get her settled, and come over for dinner?

The second is from Nathan: We’re back. Carlyn is home, I’m going to hit the gym for a bit. Ben’s mom is coming home today and he wants us all to come over tonight.

I send off a few quick messages as I walk to my car, asking Ben what time and telling Nathan I’m glad he had a safe drive home. Then I drive the excruciating twenty minutes home to Carlyn.

She’s walking into the living room from the hallway just as I walk in the front door. She runs up to greet me. I open my arms for a hug, but she leaps into my arms instead, wrapping her legs around my waist.

“How was work?” she asks, planting a kiss on my neck.

“Mmm. Longest day of my life.” I change my grip on Carlyn and take a few tentative steps up the stairs. When I’m sure I won’t drop her, I run the rest of the way up. Carlyn laughs. “How was your drive?” I ask.

“Uneventful.”

I carry Carlyn into my bedroom and shut the door behind us. “Did you think about me?” I ask. “Just a little?”

“After that stunt you pulled last night, I haven’t stopped thinking about you.”

“Good.” I wink. “That was the idea.”

I set Carlyn down in front of the bed and begin pulling at the button on her jeans. She helps me out and I tug them down past her hips. Her blue panties are the next to go. She sits back on the bed. I gently push her back. I lift her knees up and spread her legs wide.

As I duck my head down to taste Carlyn, I can’t help but remember that Nathan was here first. Part of me feels jealous. How could I not? But, oddly, another part of me kind of appreciates the teamwork. Nathan had to lay all that groundwork last night, and all I had to do was lift her up and carry her to my room. Not a bad deal, really.
