Charlieâs face hurts as he lifts his head from the hotel pillow at 3pm, which is stained with blood from his swollen nose. He winces as he touches it to see if itâs still bleeding â itâs not.
He feels like shit. His life is in ruins, but his deviant sexual urges are growing stronger. He needs gratification; he wants more. He tries to reason with his inner self, tries to fight the addiction to sex and young girls.
Before Charlie does anything, he needs to get rid of the rotting corpse wrapped up in the boot of his car. Even though itâs wrapped in black bags with duct tape, the smell is putrid and lingers inside of the car.
He drives off, heading to the Brecons, looking for a good disposal site. He takes care with his driving, not wanting to bring any unwanted attention to himself, as paranoia and anxiety take over.
Charlie parks up in a layby just off the A470. Looking around, being extra vigilant, he moves quickly, opening his boot. The putrid, sweet smell of the rotting body flows straight into his nostrils, triggering his gag reflex, but he doesnât vomit - his stomach is empty. He stuffs the dismembered corpse into a large military-style backpack. Fluid leaks from one of the bags, as a small rip allows the rancid fluid to spill out in drops onto the lining of his boot. He looks over his shoulder, then continues to stuff the contents into his large rucksack. It takes effort squeezing it all in, but surprisingly he manages it.
The air is icy cold, even though Charlieâs wrapped up for the occasion. He scouts the area with his beady eyes, pulls the filled rucksack from his boot with enormous effort, then slams it shut.
Itâs late afternoon, and the sun is starting its descent for the day. Charlie checks his kit, torch, foldaway shovel and water. Heâs ready and slowly begins his trek through the cold and wet country terrain to dispose of the body.
An hour later, heâs confident heâs found his spot. Thereâs a patch of grass between a cluster of rocks. Itâs well hidden and perfect. He removes the rucksack, throwing it to the floor with a thud. He notices thereâs a damp patch at the bottom where the fluid has seeped through, causing him to gag again.
Digging takes time. Charlie had previously underestimated how tough it would be to dig such a hole to accommodate a five-foot-two heroin-addicted prostitute.
The sun has almost gone, bathing the land with a pink and orange glow in the distance. The air feels moist and cold, causing his nose and eyes to stream. Heâs covered in mud. He feels tired and wants to give up, but he has no option but to continue and see this through.
