7. Cheese Burst Paratha
Brief History:
Cheese Burst Paratha is a modern twist on the traditional paratha, filled with a generous amount of cheese that melts and oozes out when cooked. It is a favorite among cheese lovers and is often enjoyed as a snack or meal.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup grated cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 teaspoon ajwain (carom seeds)
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- Oil or ghee for cooking
Method of Preparation:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, ajwain, and salt. Add water gradually and knead into a soft dough. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
2. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll into balls.
3. Take one ball and roll it into a small circle. Place a generous amount of grated cheese in the center, sprinkle red chili flakes, and cover with another rolled-out dough circle. Seal the edges.
4. Roll the stuffed dough gently to make a paratha.
5. Heat a griddle or tawa and cook the paratha with oil or ghee until golden brown on both sides.
6. Serve hot with yogurt or chutney.
